Celso Scribante passed away on 11 October 2023, leaving behind a massive legacy for his sons to follow.
The son of Aldo Scribante Senior, after whom the famous racetrack in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) is named, Celso was an avid supporter of son’s Silvio and Aldo’s racing careers, which saw the Gqeberha Kart Circuit named after him.
Celso was no slouch behind the wheel either, racing his Scribante Concrete Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in the Eastern Cape Saloon Car Championship, which he won in 2022, fulfilling a long-held ambition. He always, without hesitation, stepped up to the plate to invest in motorsport infrastructure without any consideration for reward.
He will be fondly remembered by his friends and racing rivals as a tough but fair competitor, and gentle guiding hand to his two boys, a motorsport legend and a great businessman.
MSA extends its condolences to Celso’s family and friends and its thanks to Eric Buijs for providing the wording of this message.
