Having won in almost every category of racing he has competed in, seasoned racer Arnold Neveling will head to the Zwartkops Raceway this weekend, looking to clinch his first GTC SupaCup victory of 2023. The circuit, located on the western outskirts of Pretoria, will host the seventh and final round of the GTC SupaCup Championship.
Having finished outside the top-four only once this season, the Goscor Lift Trucks-backed Stradale Motorsport driver has stood on the podium six times but has yet to be on the top step. Comfortably ranked fourth in the championship standings, Neveling has little chance of improving his position with a significant margin to third-placed Keagan Campos.
“It’s been a decent season if one considers that I missed the first round and that we’ve been able to stand on the podium most days. But third has been where we’ve ended most weekends, lacking some extra pace. With no chance of winning this championship, I am entirely focussed on winning my first SupaCup race this weekend. It’s always good to finish your season on a high and I hope to reward my sponsors with a victory on Saturday,” said Neveling.
Three practice sessions are scheduled for Friday, with Qualifying preceding Saturday’s two races. Spectators are welcomed with tickets available for purchase at the entrance to the circuit.
